september sailing on lake michigan

Michigan was just completely covered with snow for a week in a freak November snow storm.  These pictures are from a gentler month when sailing on Lake Michigan sounded relaxing and not like a Shackleton expedition.

We toured out on Peter's Birth day in Ross's boat out of South Haven, Michigan.

2 Miles out is the new NOAA weather buoy.   During the season the Buoy has a live web cam so that you can check conditions from home. Link below.

Scouting for ski spots

I may have found a sweet urban powder stash.  east facing - perfect for dawn patrol.

the area will need some deadfall removal and a little gardening and some snow this may be a playground.

Ann Arbor skatepark after ACL

The Ann Arbor skatepark is really a well designed public space.  It is also a supurb skatepark with something for anyone.

the sunday morning scene was very relaxed with many many older skaters on all manner of longboard, shortboards, ripsticks, and what is commonly known as a skateboard.

Almost a full year after blowing out my ACL i skated ok. The terrian took some getting used to. Kinda tweeked my "bad" knee a lil. I took the pads off and watched, not wanting to get jacked up because my backfoot/leg was wonky.

Mildly rad with potential for future radness. I'll settle for that.

CB 450 sc Nighthawk 1986

A common first and often last grasp at radness is owning a motorcycle.  I have owned this for about 8 years and it has been a project from the start. I have had some really good runs on this bike, which is why i continue to pour energy into it, with the hope for its complete resurrection.

A 1986 Honda CB450 Nighthawk SC......California.  The Cali model has this charcoal canister that is part of the tank vent,

I recently spent quite a bit of money bringing the bike back up to ride only to be stymied by some mystery issue that pops up at 15 miles or so.
