Bow fishing on the Huron river

A drive across the state to the Barton dam. After a quick bocce ball match in town, we drove over the hill, through bird hills to the dam. Walking up felt a little shady. Three guys with hoodies, carrying gun cases (with bows) walking up to a dam....best quote from this phase of the operation was "i'm not a hoodlum, i'm a Jawa."
I was reassured of the legality of what we were doing. Open season on Carp in michigan, even with a bow.
Best shot was the first which easily pierced a large fish.. This was not a catch and release trip, invasive species round up. You rip garlic mustard, these guys were pulling carp.

  1. Cool. I always thought this kind of thing goes best when wearing a jacket with a lot of officially certified-looking patches and badges. "Ma'am, I'm a professional." Same with going up to people's houses to ask permission to hunt/fish/trap the land.
